After fulfilling a two-record deal with major label RCA Records, the band built a studio in their hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where they recorded their first record for SideOneDummy. By having their own studio and working only on their own schedule, they feel they can create statements and music that is relevant and timely - on their own terms. As much as Pittsburgh has shaped them, they've always tried to get their message out into the world. Drummer Pat Thetic says, "Community has become a top priority for our band and every show we play, whether it's collecting canned food for local food banks, raising money to build wells in Africa, which we did on our US tour, or collecting clothes for the homeless on our Canadian tour."
