JMJ - Music for the exhibition "Amazônia" Sebastião Salgado's captivating exhibition Jean-Michel Jarre composed and produced a spectacular 52-minute sound creation for the project "Amazônia", created by award-winning photographer and filmmaker Sebastião Salgado. "Amazônia" is an immersive exhibition about the Brazilian Amazon, featuring more than 200 of Salgado's photographs and other media. He spent six years traveling the region, capturing the forests, rivers, mountains and the people who live there. At the heart of the exhibition is an invitation to see, hear and think about the future of biodiversity and the place of humans in this living world. The exhibition will open in Paris on 7 April 2021 and then travel around the world. JMJ's accompanying sound creation is a symphonic world that immerses the listener in the sounds of the forest. The album consists of electronic and orchestral instruments and other natural sounds and was recorded in binaural sound to create a truly immersive audio experience. "In addition to the fragility of this ecosystem, the exhibition highlights the richness of the Amazon's sonic universe by combining Salgado's stunning photographs with Jean-Michel Jarre's previously unseen work created from the concrete sounds of the forest. The rustling of trees, the cries of animals, the songs of birds or the roar of water falling from the mountaintops, collected on the spot, in the heart of the Amazon rainforest, create a soundscape adapted to Salgado's journey. Jean-Michel Jarre, who was appointed UNESCO Ambassador in 1993, is involved in remarkable projects to promote tolerance and cultural pluralism, as well as to protect nature and the environment."
