Only this album features the ensemble version of "Funeral" from the "Akhenaten" album, which was a crowd favorite at Glass concerts in the mid-1980s. Both tracks are performed by several musicians, and in "In the Upper Room" you'll hear conductor Michael Riesman on piano and synthesizer. In addition to the keyboardist, a number of strings, brass and woodwinds also participate. Although this is almost entirely instrumental music, Dora Ohrenstein's voice adds a very pleasant touch to both works.
