Here comes the first compilation of Chinese metal bands focusing on folk and oriental metal. It showcases an emerging movement in the Chinese metal scene that is reshaping the traditional heritage of ancient civilization and the newfound confidence of the youngest generation. Eight hand-picked bands from the emerging Chinese folk metal movement, hailing from all corners of China. They include festival headliners like Nine Treasures or Dream Spirit, as well as old veterans like Ritual Day or Evocation (HK) and new hopefuls like Mysterain or Suld. 13 songs with a wide spectrum from melodic heavy metal to symphonic gothic metal to Taoist black magic pagan metal and melodic oriental black metal with lyrics written and sung in Mongolian, Mandarin, Cantonese and partly in Tibetan and Sanskrit. Half of the bands represented in previous editions were winners of the WOA Metal Battle China. They participated in the Metal Battle World Finals at the Wacken Open Air in Germany. Nine Treasures came close to winning in 2013 and Evocation (HK) finished fourth in 2014. All tracks were mastered by Andy Classen at Stage One studios. The Dream Spirit and Ritual Day entries were produced and mixed by him.
