Along with cigars and rum, music from Cuba is another very successful export item from this beautiful Caribbean island. In the last century, when terms such as rumba, mambo and cha-cha became part of the vocabulary of the international music scene from New York to Paris, Cuban music embarked on a worldwide triumphal march. This double album features 30 compositions by some of Cuba's finest artists, from Ruben González, Perez Prado, Compaye Segundo, Beny Mora and Tito Puente. Many of the artists from these two albums later formed the successful group Buena Vista Social Club.
