Bavarian Military Brass Band

German military band of the Federal Armed Forces (Bundeswehr). Centered around a symphonic orchestra, their other ensembles include woodwind and brass formations, dance combos, a Big Band and, needless to say, an alphorn group. Originally formed in Sonthofen in 1956, the music corps of the 1st Military Mountain Division eventually found a base camp in the town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen in 1963. Outside of their home of Bavaria, the corps has played and performed as far afield as Canada, Finland, Britain, Afghanistan, and Uzbekistan.
