As they progressed, their music evolved to incorporate wider influences, leading to a more melodic rock style evident in their critically acclaimed album "The Remote Part," released in 2002. This album included one of their most popular songs, "You Held the World in Your Arms," and helped solidify their status within the UK music scene. Idlewild continued to produce music with a series of albums, including "Post Electric Blues" in 2009, which was initially released to fans online before receiving a general release.
