Bohemian Harp Virtuoso and Composer

Johann Baptist Krumpholtz (1742–1790) was a renowned Bohemian harpist and composer, particularly noted for his contributions to the development of the harp as a solo concert instrument. Born in Budenice, Bohemia, he was initially trained by his father before studying composition and counterpoint in Vienna. Krumpholtz's career flourished when he moved to Paris, where he became a prominent figure in the musical scene and was associated with the Concert Spirituel, an important concert series of the time.
