Katia and Marielle Labèque are renowned French classical pianists who have established themselves as one of the world's most distinguished piano duos. Born in Bayonne, France, the sisters developed a deep passion for music at an early age, receiving their initial musical training from their Italian mother, Ada Cecchi, who was herself a pianist. They rose to international fame with their groundbreaking recording of Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue," one of the first discs to achieve gold status in the classical genre.
