Nik Bärtsch's Mobile is an ensemble led by Swiss pianist and composer Nik Bärtsch. Known for his distinctive style that blends elements of jazz, minimalist music, funk, and Eastern influences, Bärtsch has developed a concept he refers to as "Ritual Groove Music." This approach is characterized by repetitive, interlocking patterns and a focus on group interplay and dynamics. Nik Bärtsch's Mobile is one of the two primary outlets for his musical expression, the other being his band Ronin. With Mobile, Bärtsch often explores more acoustic and chamber music-oriented textures, as opposed to the electric and groove-centric sound of Ronin.
