The Brothers Four

The Brothers Four

Folk Music Pioneers from the 1960s

The Brothers Four are an American folk singing group, founded in 1957 in Seattle, Washington. Known for their smooth harmonies and classic folk repertoire, the group originally consisted of Bob Flick, John Paine, Mike Kirkland, and Dick Foley, who were fraternity brothers at the University of Washington. They rose to prominence during the folk revival movement of the late 1950s and early 1960s with their hit song "Greenfields," released in 1960.
