The Phil Collins Big Band was a side project led by English musician and singer-songwriter Phil Collins, who is best known for his work with the rock band Genesis and his successful solo career. The big band primarily focused on performing jazz renditions of Collins's own songs as well as covers of other artists' material. The group was active during the late 1990s, and one of their notable performances was at the Montreux Jazz Festival. The ensemble featured a lineup of accomplished jazz musicians, and Collins, although primarily recognized as a vocalist and drummer, took on the role of bandleader and drummer for this project. The Phil Collins Big Band released the live album "A Hot Night in Paris" in 1999, which captured performances from their live shows and included big band-style arrangements of Genesis and Collins's solo hits, as well as covers of classic jazz standards.
