The debut album from Ice-T, the East Coast rapper who rose to fame in the movie Breakdance. It went platinum in the U.S. and was the first step towards the hard rap he would go on to develop on albums like "Body Count". Tracks like "Sex" or "409" (in which all expressions are replaced by loud whistling!) were quite convincing, the songs still consisting mainly of clean beats with minimalist synthi-samples or scratches. The lyrics feature Ice-T, who doesn't dare to use bad words yet, but otherwise it's the usual ghetto stories. Recommended tracks: "Rhyme Pays", "Squeeze The Trigger", "409", "Make It Funky".
