Lenka Filipová: Oppidum verzia na vinylu LP v štandardný edícii. Toto konkrétne vydanie vyšlo v Česko a Slovensko vo vydavateľstve Universal Music Group dňa 30. novembra 2018.
Lenka Filipová revives stories from the Celtic past on her new album Oppidum. After an incredible fifteen years, the singer and guitarist Lenka Filipová is preparing a big tour of the same name in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.Oppidum is a new studio album. Beautiful melodies, the ever-present touch of mysterious Celtic culture and enchanting interpretation will be the best companion for the chilly autumn days. The new album, which will be released on 16 November on Universal Music, is introduced by the only Czech song Na cestě (On the Road), the lyrics of which were provided by the talented singer and author David Stypka. "Oppidum is the name for the Celtic settlements where the Celts lived and from which they set out on their expeditions. Or, on the contrary, they served as their refuge. For me, it is a home for songs through which I tell stories from the ancient past," reveals Lenka Filipová, who collaborated with her multi-instrumentalist husband Sean Barry on the album. Together they developed a repertoire, several songs from which have graced Filipová's concert programme for a few years now. "Working with Lenka was one of my most enjoyable studio experiences ever.Beautiful, centuries-old melodies, always carefully prepared optimistic Lenka with a clear vision and charismatic vocal expression, authentic and brilliant Celtic Sean Barry, who records all the instruments essentially first time and from start to finish without a single cut, and a recording studio in the next street - so I only had to leave home 3 minutes before the start of the recording - it's hard to imagine a better constellation," recalls David Solař.In addition to the authentic experience that transports you back in time to the days of Celtic warriors and mystical druids, Oppidum is extraordinary for its musical and linguistic diversity. "I sing in four languages - Old Gaelic, Irish and Scottish, as well as Old Breton and English," calculates the musician, while Sean Barry adds, "I found most of the songs on the album in Scotland, Ireland and Northern England. They're beautiful and powerful songs, but sadly they've been lost and it's almost impossible to hear them anywhere. I felt sorry for them and wondered how to breathe life back into them. I arranged them all so that when you close your eyes, the music transports you to the mountains, forests and seas. It was a beautiful job that I enjoyed a lot, as well as working with Lenka and David in the studio. We often let the music guide us. "The only Czech song on the album, "On the Road" (Kathy's Song) is not a traditional song, but comes from the pen of Paul Simon. The Czech lyrics were written by David Stypka, an award-winning singer-songwriter and reigning winner of the Anděl Award in the Solo Artist of the Year category. The singer approached him because of his distinctive poetics, which is unparalleled among domestic authors. "Every one of the songs on the album is a heartbreaker for me, but this one is very close to my heart since I was a teenager and I always wanted to sing it, but it only happened now. That's why I sang it on the album in both the English original and in Czech. "I grew up with Lenka Filipová's songs, my mother brought me to her albums and they're under my skin. So I really appreciate Lenka's trust and I'm really happy with the way the song turned out. I also enjoyed the process of creating the lyrics, our conversations and searches together," says David Stypka.Lenka Filipová will also present her new album Oppidum during her spring tour in February and March 2019, when she will visit several major venues in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. "The tour will culminate in the Great Hall of Lucerna in Prague. There will be many of my favourite musical guests on stage, including virtuoso Celtic harp player Sean Barry, with whom we prepared the whole album," she invites fans. There is no doubt that listening to new songs steeped in ancient culture in her unmistakable interpretation will be an exceptional experience both in album form and live.Oppidum Tour28.
