"And It's Still Alright" is the title of the record, on which Rateliff comes to terms with his broken marriage and the death of his good friend and producer Richard Swift, to whom the title track is dedicated. And so "And It's Still Alright" is on the one hand about death, loss and pain, but on the other hand there is always a glimmer of hope and, according to the album title, "everything is alright". Musically, the album is much calmer and more minimalistic than the retro rock and vintage R'n'B sound of the band's previous album, Songbook.
