Unlike DVD or Blu-ray Disc players, a pure CD player is significantly better at stereo playback. The unit in the CD Box S3 allows CD playback with 1-bit accuracy.

The CD Box S3 is the first product in the new S3 series. Not only has the circuit design been redesigned, but the chassis has also been significantly changed. In addition to the new all-aluminum housing, it also has a new 1.54" display with color inversion function that weighsdisplays all the important information required for the best music experience when listening to your favourite CDs. Control of the player has been thought out down to the last detail, and is simple, requiring only the buttons on the front panel of the unit or the supplied remote control.

The player is controlled by a minicomputer that optimizes the drive used for bit-accurate reading of the "Redbook" CD standard at a ratio of 1: 1 and provides a modern and audiophile-grade playback solution.The new DAC chip provides flawless digital-to-analog conversion with bit depth and sampling rates up to 32 bits / 384 kHz. The slot drive smoothly pulls in the CD disc and after a few seconds the CD BOX S3 is ready to play.

For even more versatility and without upward limitations, the S/PDIF coaxial output can feed an external DAC. This way, you can let your favorite high-end DAC convert the exact bitstream transferred from the CD. The CD Box S3 is thus the perfect complement to your HiFi system.

This unobtrusive CD player can handle CD, CD-R, CD-RW and hybrid SACD discs. Its strengths include a robust slotted all-metal drive designed for 1:1 real-time playback and a superb integrated 32-bit/384kHz DAC.

Despite its minimalist dimensions, it will certainly be an equal opponent to all competitors thanks to its excellent sound. The CD BOX S3 is the ideal partner for the Maia S2 amplifier.
