In order to reduce acoustic feedback from the environment back to the LP and the cartridge, much effort has gone into the development of thein the development of turntable mats that produce crystal clear sound with great separation and detail.This has been achieved by experimenting with different materials that absorbunwanted vibrations that were not present in the original recording.Many people are now trying to combine these materials, like a sandwich, simultaneously to achieve better results.In order to improve the contact between the record and the pad, the middle section - the dimensions of theof the label - was hollowed out to accommodate the thicker part of the LP.
