Howard Ferguson (1908–1999) was a British composer, pianist, musicologist, and educator known for his contributions to classical music in the 20th century. Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, he studied at the Royal College of Music in London under renowned figures such as R.O. Morris for composition and Harold Samuel for piano. Ferguson's compositional style was influenced by Romantic and early 20th-century music, yet he maintained a distinctive voice that reflected his own musical ideas.
