Electronic Music Collective

Ink Project is a live electronic/soul collective run by multi-instrumentalist/producer Jez Lloyd. After starting the group in his hometown of London and enlisting the vocal talents of Melanie Dymond, he released Ink Project’s debut album ‘Inside The Sun’ via the Blind Colour imprint in December 2011, along with remixes from the likes of Gang Colours (Brownswood) and Memotone (Black Acre). The album attracted a lot of attention and featured heavily across the blogosphere as well as gaining radioplay from the likes of Gilles Peterson, Nemone, Don Letts, NME Radio, Red Bull Music Academy and The British Council’s Selector Show. In August 2012, Ink Project continued to build momentum by releasing a unique cover version and video of the famous Blondie classic ‘Rapture’ - followed by ‘Keep Passing By’ and ‘Lost At Sea’ in 2013/14. Jez then started writing and producing with various well-known artists including James Blake and Bugz In The Attic whilst more recently developing the Blind Colour roster by signing the hugely talented Nate Connelly and Rounds. In 2015, Ink Project returned with the release of new single ‘Runaway Ritual’ featuring the vocals of FiFi Rong (who has previously collaborated and toured with Tricky) and remixes from Submotion Orchestra’s Ruckspin (Ninja Tune/Counter), Nate Connelly (Blind Colour) and Seahawks (Lo Recordings). Since 2012, Ink Project have also gigged and toured across Europe at various venues in Austria and Slovakia, the Sonar Festival and Groove Control party in Barcelona/Spain, the Jazz Refound Festival in Milan/Italy (supporting Dorian Concept and Afrika Bambaata - curated by Ninja Tune), Cargo and the Notting Hill Arts Club in London/UK amongst others. Their highly-anticipated second album ‘Satellite On’ was released on 11th March 2016 and features new Trinidadian vocalist Coreysan with further guest appearances from Melanie Dymond, FiFi Rong and more.
